Music in Paris – It’s not only classical!

March 18th, 2013

Lots of interesting concerts in Paris this March, starting off with a series of concerts by Laurie Anderson and other groups allied with her modern, experimental approach.  While I ended February with Simon Rattle conducting the Berlin Philharmonic, March started with Antony and the Johnsons (his style is described on Wikipedia as psychic folk/dark cabaret), followed by Coco Rosie (choose between freaky folk and unclassifiable!).  At both concerts Laurie Anderson sat in for a couple of numbers and at Antony the bonus was a walk-on by Lou Reed (who is married to Laurie Anderson).  All of these concerts were sold out so a bit of planning is necessary – but that’s where Joan’s Personalized Paris comes in!  Let us help you by identifying the options early on and assisting with the ticket purchase if desired!

And still to come is The Gospel According to The Other Mary, a creation by John Adams (an oratorio in 2 acts, libretto by Peter Sellars), with the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel.
