Salon du chocolat – Paris 2013

October 28th, 2013

Chocolate lovers rejoice!  The annual Salon du Chocolat will open its doors in Paris from October 30 – November 3 at the Porte de Versailles exposition center in pavilion 5.  Open from 10 – 7 daily, activities include tastings (of course!), demonstrations (chocolate and pastries), displays, a bookstore and more, all chocolate-related!  Chocolate in all its forms – bars, candy, pralines, pastries, fountains, breads, unprocessed, even dresses made from chocolate!    The 2013 expo has almost doubled in size to more than 200,000 square feet and over 500 exhibitors, most of my favorite chocolate makers among them.  And at Boulangerie Poilâne (stand A6) there will be  special creations (apple tarts with Cluizel cocoa and caramelized sugar, tartine Belle Hèlene – with chocolate/pear jam – and, my biggest temptation, Poilâne’s pepper bread with foie gras and chocolate).  How can you stay away?

Tickets are 13 euros for adults, 6.50 euros for chidden 3 – 12, under 3 free.  You can buy tickets online here (you can either print your tickets at home or collect them at any FNAC store at their ticket sales window but not at gate).

Easy access from central Paris via metro lines 12 (Porte de Versailles stop) or 8 (Balard stop). Practical info here.
