Télérama Movie Festival

January 17th, 2014

See a current film in Paris for 3 euros?  In a city where the top movie price (for a 3D film at the new Pathé Beaugrenelle is 16 euros)?  Thanks to Télérama magazine and their 17th Festival Cinéma, you can see select showings of some of the top films of 2013 for 3 euros between January 15 & 21.  You’ll need to buy the January 15 edition of the magazine (available at all news stands) to find the reusable coupon.  If you don’t speak French not to worry – many of the films on the list are in English (just make sure you pick a showing that’s marked v.o. for version originale; if it’s v.f. – version française – that film has been dubbed into French).  Among the English-language films on the list you’ll find Inside Llewyn Davis, Francis Ha, Django Unchained (a huge box-office success in France!) and Blue Jasmine.  Films in French include La Vie d’Adèle (English title – Blue is the Warmest Color) and Mon âme par toi guérie.  There are also several foreign films subtitled in French (for those who read French) including Le Passé and A Touch of Sin.

You can find details about showings in the January 15 edition of Télérama (which you’ll have purchased to get the coupon) or in Pariscope, the weekly listing of everything cultural on sale at all news stands).  So, if you need a break from sightseeing, you might just get to see that film that you’d wanted to see all year – and for cheap!
