La Nuit aux Invalides (A night at the Invalides)

May 14th, 2014

This year marks the 3rd time La Nuit aux Invalides has been presented in the historic inner courtyard of the Hôtel des Invalides, created by royal edit of Louis IV in 1670 to care for wounded soldiers.  Narrated by famous French personalities, the show recounts key historical events related to this site.  And this year, for the first time, there’s a download for smartphones available in English (for an additional charge).  Now even if you don’t speak French you can follow the story.

Nightly shows at 9:30 and 10:30 daily except Sunday until May 24th.  Duration: about 45 minutes, standing room only.

Tickets are available online until 5 pm the day of the show or at the onsite ticket office from 8:45 pm.  You can buy tickets just for the show (12.50 euros) or the show followed by a visit to the dome of Les Invalides after (20.50).  The show goes on rain or shine.  Entrance: 129 rue de Grenelle, 7th.  Closest metro: Varenne (line 13) or Latour-Maubourg, line 8.
