Fondation Louis Vuitton

November 26th, 2016

The building that houses the Foundation Louis Vuitton was designed by Frank Gehry. It’s referred to as the Bateau Verre (Glass Boat) – which it does resemble from many angles – and houses temporary exhibitions (the current one – Icons of Modern Art, The Shchukin Collection, until February 20, 2017 – is fabulous!).  The building itself, a work of art with its soaring glass shell and many terraces, is worth the visit for that alone.  And the French sculptor Daniel Buren’s installation of colored panels (which will stay up until April, 2017) adds another dimension to the experience.  Click here for more information about the current exhibit and here for more info on the Daniel Buren installation.
