Musée de la vie romantique – exhibit Pierre-Joseph Redouté

Elysée Palace Gardens – Open This Sunday

Rarely open to visitors in the past , now open the first Sunday of the month (August 3)!  For those who don’t know, the Elysée Palace is the home of the French president so this is like visiting the White House gardens but à la française!  Because it’s not just any park, being so closely associated with the French government, you’re expected to be ‘appropriately dressed’ (my interpretation is that this means no bathing suits, probably no cutoff short shorts, guys should keep their shirts


Ravel/Béjart in the gardens of Versailles this week

The Béjart Ballet will be performing Ravel’s Boléro in the gardens of the Orangerie at the Chateau de Versailles this Wednesday and Thursday, June 18th & 19th at 9:00 pm.  Tickets are not cheap (248 to 43 euros depending on the category) but it’s likely to be spectacular.  To reserve, click here.  Versailles is easily accessible by RER C (suburban light rail) and the SNCF (the French national railway) – you should be able to go and return by public transportation but if you’re worried


Gardens in the Garden

The 11th annual festival Jardins, Jardin, in the Tuileries Gardens, runs from Friday June 6 through Monday June 9.  If you’re strolling through the Tuileries this weekend and looking for garden ideas, you should check out this garden show.  You’ll find it on the Seine side of the gardens, just behind the Orangerie. Friday – Sunday 10-8, Monday 10-5.  Entry fee: 13 euros, under 18 free.


Fall Garden Festival Paris
